Kate Crane @ The Artistic Stamper

Had a the most brilliant weekend, Kate Crane (she of painty, inky, quirky, whimsical fame)  returned to The Artistic Stamper to teach us sarf' england peeps how to rock it Crane Style.

It was a three day weekend, with a class squeezed in on Friday for those who had missed out on the weekend classes, I unfortunately had to work, but come Saturday I was ready to party.

Day 1, we made altered matchboxes and Day 2 we learnt to draw and paint whimsical characters.

The rules of the weekend were no moaning but at times as Kate pushed us past our comfort zones, it was hard to stick to the rules. The room went silent as we all concentrated hard on the new techniques. I tried to take lot of photos during the day at different stages, also tried to take some selfies, definitely need some practice on that.

. Made new friends, met old blog friends,  learnt new skills and was told I was mad as a box of frogs!! (compliment!!)

Had a fab day recently at the Artistic Stamper in Faversham Kent celebrating their 1st Birthday, the wonderful Miss JOFY was their and was doing a make'n'take, hexagon badge. This inspired me to try the techniques on some mdf photo holders, (also from Artistic Stamper) as presssies for my BFF .....

Stampotique ATC swap

Nikki Woodward at Stampotique Designers Challenge on Facebook, organises an ATC swap each month, and I decided to join in, its been a long time since I was in the ATC market. But it holds a special place in my heart, as it was through this I found art that I love, and began to make good friends in the crafting community.

Had great fun in July preparing two ATC's to be sent out for the swap, the theme was "sing a song". My initial thoughts were arrgh what do I do, but then when I hit the groove (pun intended) I found it both easy and fun to do.

So these are the two atcs that I sent out

 

and then these were the two I received,

 

which I think are fantastic and so creative.  The event gets everyone to post them on facebook as they receive them, and the talent and creativity of people is amazing.

For those that need help, my two are Pharrell Williams (Happy) and Queen (Bohemian Rhapsody) and I received Pink Floyd (Another brick in the wall) and Dolly Parton (9-5).

I am really looking forward to the next challenge, and would recommend it.
