Stuck in a rut :(

Due to life and many things beyond my control, life is pretty difficult at the moment for us, and the sad thing is my mojo has gone for a burton. Whilst I would love to forget my worries whilst playing in an inky painty mess, it is not to be.

I had prior to this had a bit of gelli plate playing session, which was left on my desk and have managed to do a wee bit of doodling on them, each page has taken a week or more to do though so it has been a very slow bit of art, LOL, hope you like.

The only positive I can find for this, is I have been spending on the internet and keep getting crafty goodies delivered to me, awaiting return of mojo.

Am off to find mojo for mothers day card now, wish me luck.

Art Time with new supplies

cannot tell you how long I have been waiting to get a white Dylussion spray, did find one by Crafty Notions but very hard to use always blocking up, so I was so excited when her new colours hit the shelves and the figure masks, well I've started with Flossy and just had so much fun with her I might have to get her pals too.

below are two finished pieces from an extended session on the gelli plate with all different masks so lots more to play with in the future, but these two have been finished using more sprays especially the white, hope you like

this one was the left over from another print, loved the distressed way it turned out so just decided to add some word play.

also the great thing about these figure masks is not only do you have the positive and negative to play with but you can also flip them over, would highly recommend them.

Craft Stamper Blog Challenge

I saw this technique of faux airbrushing by Joanne Allison in this months issue of Craft Stamper (pages 62/63) and though it looked so effective and I decided to have a go, so I have made my husbands Valentines card using the technique.

I bought a cheap sponge as my only outlay on this technique and use Distress Inks in Pickled Raspberry and Festive Berries to make the heart, I wanted the colour to have a bit more depth, so I applied two colours virtually all over. I used one of my old craft punches to punch through some acetate to use as my mask and this worked out so easy to use. Using acetate is a great idea for placement. So I have now used all my old dies to make masks with acetate, well those that would punch some were a bit stubborn.

So I am entering this into the Craft Stamper Take it Make it Challenge

More Gelli Plate action

Started with a base colour that I printed onto my paper and then tried adding two colours onto the gelli plate together and rolled around, some hand drawing and printed, liked the effect and decided to add some fish and a starburst using stencils to create an ocean scene, finished off with some off my fave stampotique stamps.

and a bit more of a close-up

loved the way my base colours which had a sheen added to the feeling off light coming through the water.

Hope you like, thanks to all who commented last time, much appreciated.

Cross fingers for a creative 2013

Happy 2013 to all my fellow crafters.

I was lucky enough to receive a Gelli Plate from my sons for my christmas present, and I finally found time to play, first I watched a couple of You Tube vids on How To and then I had a go myself.

This is my printed page, not my normal colours but I liked the contrast and brightness,

and then this is it finished, with a bit of letter love on it, some zentangling and doodling and two modesty plasters, LOL

Hope you like I really enjoyed it and cant wait to have another play, however work is calling, bah humbug.

I also received another lovely present, a Kindle Fire, I am an avid reader and wasnt sure that I would enjoy e books, but im beginning to convert, and have found so far its quite easy to get books at reasonable prices, 99p. Which is all good.

Can I ask people to please comment on my post if they view it, as I'm beginning to get a complex, LOL.
