Fat Page Jam (june mcfarlands)

Another set of swaps for you to see, hopefully June has received these by now.

First one was France, June's subject, looked for lots of images, ending up using flag colours for background scrawled some watercolour on paper, overstamped with tim holtz postal stamp highlighted with silver, then found this image that looked like Marie Antoinette, added cuttlebug vellum wing and a crown with touches of foil, on the reverse used my Paris stamp with some watercolouring and more foil, started to get carried away, June is lucky didnt cover whole page with foil, I was having such fun.

Next was my subject Mardi Gras, found a really nice mask and then looked through my stamps for a face that fitted it, more bling and glitter and on the back a Carnival Float image that I loved

Lastly was birds, again another saying came to mind, was going to make huge pastry like lid for pie, then remembered this paper which I think worked out great, so ta da "a pie lid", LOl, for the reverse a kingly image with an interloper, this is my fave I think because it evolved intosomething I am quite pround of.

Thanks for looking, hope you enjoy. Have a great weekend, Im working tomorrow, grrr.

Hi everyone, too think was only 24 hours ago that I had some money to my name, LOL, but now I have two bags of stash, all still in the bags as I like to look at it all the nextday cos its like being there again but in the comfort of my own home. Defn feeling a bit knackered today and the bad new is I've got a six day week ahead of me, groan groan. Now all unpacked see attached picture.

I met Rustycage there as well and we had lunch together and did some shopping before Rusty had to go as she had actually spent her budget before lunch but managed to carry on spending after lunch, also met her friend from the Mamma group on Flicker who traded some ATC's with me, great to meet you, didnt realise you were from Ilford, I was born there.

Me and my friend Sue were there till just before 5pm, and I was completely knackered by then, took us two hours to get home which was a pain, but I wasnt driving so could relax a little bit, in case anyone saw or heard me I had a small pink portable fan which was a life saver, would defo recommend you take one next year, oops better start saving.

My fave stall of the day was LB Crafts, where both Linda and Leandra (paperartsy) were demonstrating, it was my first stall and would have quite happily have bought everything there, watched Leandra demonstrating for over an hour and could have stood there all day but didnt want to hog them as there were a few other crafters their, LOL, defn gonna start saving up for one of their craft weekends as it would seem I would learn loads and loads, and a whole weekend crafting.

Other people who may have seen me was two girls from up north (said it was better than the NEC!!) who we saw all over the place, met in the queue for the loo's first thing when we used the mens, (phew stinky and there were men in there!!!!) Right didnt mean to write a book, I am so tired I think might have to revisit my bed for a snooze. Sorry I didnt meet anyone else on the day but there is always next year.

Attached is a picture of an award for my blog from Polly Pierce, thanks so much, will be passing it on to five other people, soon.

Crafty Individuals blog candy

Followed this from a link on another blog I follow and there is some nice work on there, pop over and have a look, dont bother putting you're name down for the candy, its mine, (I wish), LOL

Fat Page Jam

Just completed a jam with Rusty and June, Rusty has received hers today so I can blog them on here, for all to see.

June picked France, which I came up with lots of ideas for but nothing that translated into a fat page, until I had my eureka moment "Asterix de Gaulle" (get it, lol). Background was done with adirondack pearl dabber, then used sequin waste to put the flag colours on, then searched some images off the net and used them, on the reverse put the famous De Gaulle free french speech and some more images, hope you like . . .

I picked Mardi Gras, cos I'd seen it on a couple of challenges and though it would be nice and also easy to do,how wrong was I, found lots of images and kept looking at them every day waiting for inspiration to strike, loved this image of this female (male!) and decided to jazz it up with a cuttlebug frame around it to set it off, on the reverse just watercoloured in mardi gras colours through some peel offs . . .

Finally Rusty picked Birds, a big fave of hers, got some sayings in my head and decided to manipulate them into fat pages, Rusty got "Cat amongst the Pigeons", my husband questioned my mental state when he saw this one, dunno what he means, LOL. Like the way this one turned out myself, I crumpled the picture and it gives quite a nice effect of depth, on the back some dead pigeons, I liked this picture as I used to have pigeons in a roof once above my bedroom and they would drive me insane with all their noise,
(hmmm that might explain some things!!) . . .

Anyway I hope you like them, will blog June's once she has received them.

Countdown to mad stash spending splurge at Ally Pally, 1 day 16 hours.

Alfie

Just a quick post to show you I am still alive and crafting, have finished the marathon Easter roast, three hours in the kitchen and gone in less than twenty minutes, have also just demolished my easter egg, (it was really small, honest), so gonna do a quick tour of the blogs then back to crafting, whilst watching Shall we dance film, Richard Gere and JLo, thinking I would love to learn to dance properly, perhaps that can be a reward for me, say 1 stone down the road, off not on, LOL.

So have been busy making some fat pages for my swap with June and Rusty, they are now finished so have to just parcel them up for sending Tuesday, so quickly made a card for my nephews new son, had a play with my craft robo and nearly manged to weld letters, but I made it work don't you think, hehe. Hope you like, Happy Easter.
