Introducing . . .

. . .  my new friend, you will see him poking his head into some of the pictures . . .

Last weekend I decided to have a Kate Crane inspiration day, so I prepped my work surface chose some colours and some paper, popped Kate's DVD on, and away I went, I had great fun if slightly messy (buts that what's supposed to happen isn't it) and created various journal backgrounds, a colour wheel (hope you are proud of me Kate) and a masterboard.

The masterboard got chopped up into tags and that was as far as I got at the weekend, then it didn't get returned to for a couple of days as had a humdinger of a cold, when I got back to it decided I needed to add stampotique figures to it, so did some stamping and some pro marker colouring, sort of worked out what I wanted to do on Friday evening and then was gonna get started on Saturday, but I got sidetracked, I blame Kaz, she had been playing with the new Tim stamps, now there is only one of them I really wanted and off course that was featured in Kaz's play, so before you could say boo, I'm on the phone to Pickleberry to reserve them and outa of the door to get them, well Kaz you have a lot to answer for because of course I didn't just get the one set of stamps, there were other tempatations put in my way, like a set of the new Dylussions and a mask of two.  Anyway one happy bunny set off home if slightly (cough cough) poorer.  So here are the tags that I have finished, bright and pink, not my usual colour scheme.

So did you spot my new friend, yup its Billy the skull, there is a new kids magazine series building a skeleton and luckily the skull was in part one for 99p, well it would have been rude not to, so I bought him and am hoping to distress him so much he wont be recognizable, poor Billy !!!  LOL

Oh and finally here is a pic of the rose my boys bought me for valentines, its looking a bit worse for wear but I am loving the colour tones in it, now I want to keep this forever, do I press it now or when its dried out?

Happy Valentines

Not a big celebrator of valentines, a card does me fine, oh ok, when we were first married I told my husband not to waste money buying me flowers, as they were a rip off at valentines day, well he has stuck to this faithfully, (sob sob), but my lovely boys bought me a single red rose, awwww my heart melted. Hubby bought me a pack of Cream egg splats, which everyone has their eyes on, should I share do you think!!

Anyway here is the card I made for my husband,

A birthday card

Needed to make a quick card for a bloke at work, looking for inspiration and my eyes went to this tag I had made the other week . .

decided to use it as a stepping stone, cut my umbrella man out of fabric and made a "distressy" type background, am quite pleased with how this turned out, in fact only thing I'm not pleased with is the fabric, oh well c'est la vie

Oh well happy week everyone . . x

Busy but creative week

Had two days off this week, managed to fill them to the brim with all the things I dont have time to do in a normal week, a lie-in, a hair cut (no photos sorry) an opticians visit, I need glasses sob sob (I had noticed that I was having to move my head back to bring small type into focus, yes age has finally caught up to my eyes :( ), oh and the normal food shopping, but Friday was better I took myself off to Bluewater, where there was a craft show in the Glow, it was Creative Stitches and Hobbycraft, very poorly advertised I thought, as I only knew it was on because of Leandra at PaperArtsy, I had prayed for the snow to hold off so I could still get to it, and my prayers were answered.  There were lots of stalls dealing with the more normal crafty stuff, and some dealing with Peel offs galore, didnt stop there, thank gawd Paper Artsy was there, great to catch up with Leandra and Lin, had time for quite a chat, but when I popped round to say goodbye had to sneak off as they were very busy demonstrators.  Did go up to the Creative Stitches part of the show for a snoop round and found a fabulous textile artist Kim Thittachai, very impressive so bought some stuff from there to have a play with.

Anyway so the snow has arrived, but looks like I will still be able to get to work tomorrow, that wasnt in the prayer LOL, so obligatory snow picture, went out in a t-shirt, (think I was having a hot moment . . LOL)

and then to some paint have been making some journal backgrounds this week, not aiming to finish just to get some started

watched a Dyan Reavely video from CHA and used her techniques to get a double page spread going, lots of water, spray and smoosh pages together and away you go . .

this page is also waiting finishing, not sure if I have blogged it already, soz if I have.

Have great weeks everyone  . . xx
